Saturday, Oct. 24, is stacked. Alumni baseball, Market at the Maze, the Smoke Rise Community Yard Sale, a car show at Stuckeys and two trick-or-treat events all fall on the same day, and the Haunted Hippie Art Festival is the same afternoon. The Blountsville Harvest Festival and the Trafford Fall Festival are a short drive away. Here’s the weekend.
The weather: The National Weather Service forecast, updated Thursday morning, has sunshine all weekend. Highs are near 76 on Friday, 72 on Saturday and 71 on Sunday, with lows in the mid-40s at night. Winds stay light. It’s a good weekend to be outside, but bring a jacket for the evening events.

Hayden High School Alumni Baseball Game. The Cole Sims Memorial Scholarship game starts at 9 a.m. at the Hayden High School baseball field, next to the football stadium and behind the elementary school. Thirty-five local players signed up, so organizers expanded the day to two games of about an hour and a half each. Families are welcome to fill the bleachers.
Smoke Rise Community Yard Sale. The sale was rescheduled from Oct. 10 because of Tropical Storm Isaias and is now Saturday.
Spooktacular Festival. Stuckeys of Hayden hosts a car show, music, a kids play area and vendors from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stuckeys Chevron, 7600 County Highway 5, right off I-65 at exit 289. Organizers are still looking for car entries and vendors. Email Windy Stodgel at StuckeysofHayden@gmail.com.

Trick-or-Treat with the Firefighters. Bangor Fire Rescue welcomes kids from 6 to 9 p.m. at 205 Philpot Road in Hayden. Kids can collect treats, meet the firefighters and explore the fire trucks.
Haunted Hippie Art Festival. The fourth annual festival, presented by Ray of Hope Magic Shop, was moved to Saturday because of weather. It runs from noon to 5 p.m. at 140 Cane Creek Road. Admission is free, and organizers ask that you leave pets at home. Expect more than 50 vendors, food trucks, live music, photo ops, permanent jewelry and face painting. Follow Ray of Hope Magic Shop on Facebook for more information.
Outside the area
