Nectar

Place

A west Blount County town that predates 1819 statehood. First named Tidmore, for postmaster Henry Tidmore; renamed Nectar in 1902. Home to the Nectar Covered Bridge, a 385-foot Town Lattice truss bridge built in 1934 and destroyed by arson in 1993. Incorporated in 1976, driven by the practical need to build a municipal water system.
