The name Reid’s Gap’s post office carried for two separate periods: 1890-1901, then again 1913-1915. No postmaster name or naming rationale survives for either era. The second closure lines up with the same L&N relocation through Hayden that stranded Reid’s Gap itself. A modern “Willow Estates” near Rickwood Caverns is a coincidental match to a separate, unrelated subdivision in Warrior, Alabama, not an echo of this name.
