The founding couple of Hogeland Cemetery. Abraham Hogeland (1775-1841, marked Veteran, likely War of 1812-era service) and Catherine Powell Hogeland (1768-1830). Their family name outlived them directly on the map: Hogeland Creek was already labeled on an 1892 topo quad, just 51 years after Abraham’s death.
