Blackburn Mountain

Place

Blackburn Mountain is the earlier name for what’s now called Bryant Mountain, named for the Blackburn family documented in this immediate area - including Rev. James Archibald Blackburn, a Revolutionary War veteran recorded in the 1830 US Census at the Locust Fork of the Warrior River, Blount County. The Little Warrior River also forms at the confluence of Calvert Prong and Blackburn Fork, a second nearby “Blackburn” place name in the same watershed.
