Charles Guynn

A Methodist preacher who began holding services in private homes on Sundays in 1817. That same year the community built a meetinghouse in his namesake cove, Guynn’s Cove - “supposed to be the first built in the county,” per George Powell’s 1855 “History of Blount County.”
