A ford on the Locust Fork, per the official Blount County Place-Name Gazetteer: “found on maps dating from 1892 and 1907.” Two independent map editions bracket Greg Caudle’s own 1895 topo quad from both sides, meaning it was a stable, consistently mapped crossing across at least a 15-year span.
