History Glossary

Curtis Standridge

Person

Privately owned the Standridge Bridge; his family had farmed that bend of the Locust Fork for generations. The bridge led to his own farm, and he maintained it himself. When officers came to his door after the November 1967 fire, he told them he knew of no reason why anyone would have wanted it destroyed.

Appears in: The Unsolved Burning of the Standridge Bridge.
