Oak Forest Cemetery

Place

A small roster extending the Culwell, Davis, and Johnson families, also documented elsewhere in Blount County. Lewis Davis (1763-1842) is old enough for Revolutionary War-era service. Joseph S. “Joe” Culwell (1824-1890) is plausibly the father of James Polk “Polk” Culwell, part of the same Culwell family named on the crew that built the Vaughn Bridge.

Notable graves:

  • Lewis Davis (Veteran, 1763-1842) - old enough for Revolutionary War-era service.
  • Joseph S. “Joe” Culwell (Veteran, 1824-1890).
