Graves Gap Cemetery

Place

The namesake cemetery of Graves Gap, founded by the Graves family (Doctor “Jack” Graves, 1800-1875, the oldest here). Also the burial place of George Washington Swann (1840-1919) and his family, whose land and name are directly tied to the real Swann Covered Bridge - the crossing was originally slated to be called the Joy Bridge, renamed in the Swann family’s honor at a November 1933 dedication dinner.
