Built in 1934 on a bend of the Locust Fork east of Hayden, the longest covered bridge in Alabama and in the entire South: a Modified Town lattice truss, four spans, 432 feet long, its deck fifty feet above the water. Privately owned by Curtis Standridge, whose family farmed that bend of the river for generations. Burned by an arsonist on a Thursday night in November 1967; nobody was ever charged.
